    What is this product and who is it for?

    Care set for jacket and waders combines the Wash & Care 315 ml detergent with the Waterproofing Refresher 300 ml treatment. It is meant for membrane rain and hiking clothing, technical fabrics and fishing waders. The manufacturer states that both products can work in the same wash cycle: the detergent goes into the main compartment, the treatment into the rinse compartment.

    What problem does it solve?

    After an active season a membrane jacket or a pair of waders starts to drink water: drops no longer bead up, the outer fabric soaks, the garment gets heavier and dries slowly. The usual cause is not a broken membrane but a worn water-repellent surface with dirt sitting in it. Care set for jacket and waders answers both halves: Wash & Care removes the dirt without harming the technical fabric, and Waterproofing Refresher restores surface water-repellency. One limit matters: the bundle does not mend tears, leaking seams or a damaged membrane.

    Which materials does it suit, and which does it not?

    This bundle is not for wool or merino; those need Mountval Wool Wash 300 ml. A down jacket or sleeping bag needs Mountval Down Wash 300 ml. A bundle is two separate factory packs, not one mixed product. Use each product according to its own label and in the order described below.

    How do you use it step by step?

    1. Empty the pockets, close the zips; wash a very dirty item first.
    2. Pour 45 ml of Wash & Care into the main wash compartment, roughly half a cap, for up to two garments.
    3. Pour 75 ml of Waterproofing Refresher into the rinse or softener compartment; that amount covers two items.
    4. Do not add fabric softener, it cancels out both products.
    5. Dry naturally; if the label allows it, tumble dryer heat helps set the water-repellency.

    Prefer two steps? Wash with Wash & Care first, then run a separate rinse cycle with Waterproofing Refresher. By hand, spread the treatment evenly with a sponge or cloth. Test both products on a hidden area before first use.

    What is this product not suitable for?

    • It does not make anything waterproof. The bundle restores surface water-repellency; it does not create a waterproof layer and does not replace a membrane.
    • It does not mend tears or seams. Neither a detergent nor a treatment restores a damaged membrane, holes or leaking seams.
    • Not for wool or down. Wash & Care is made for technical fabrics, so merino base layers and down items need different products.
    • Not compatible with fabric softener. Ordinary softener clogs the fabric and kills water-repellency, so it must not be used.

    Will my jacket be waterproof after this bundle?

    Can I wash my merino base layer at the same time?

    No, that needs a different product. Wash & Care is made for technical and membrane fabrics, while wool and merino need Mountval Wool Wash 300 ml. Do not use fabric softener with this bundle, it cancels out both products.
